The owner described to me that lightning is being blamed for starting the fire. Last month we were hired by his insurance company to help the owner file his claim.
The fire started at the front office area. It destroyed this area then the reception area along with the back office. Then the fire spread to the supply room destroying the parts inventory. The owner still in shock over his loss admits in a somber tone he did not have enough insurance to cover the inventory.
This is a real life instance. Similar to scenarios I warn our clients about. This business did not have enough coverage on the product that produces their revenue. They did not have the Business Income insurance to provide the funds to pay for the loss of revenue or the expenses to re-open.
